Welcome to the website of Gothers Observatory, Cornwall, UK.
Gothers observatory is principally interested in scientific study of astronomical objects. Areas of study include asteroids, variable stars and extra-solar planets. I undertake Astrometry and Photometry of interesting objects and investigate their nature through their light.
New observations: This transit of Qatar 1-b was taken on a slightly iffy night (some thin cloud floating around) but recently the weather has been so poor that I went for it anyway. Residuals are quite high (~6mmag), this is partly due to the relative faintness of the object at V-Mag 12.84.
Qatar 1-b orbits its star once every 1.4 days and is probably tidally locked with its star, such that one side of the planet always faces the star.
